The power of sandbags

The 2024 flood protection efforts in and around Pilismarót were a testament to exemplary cooperation and effective emergency response. After a particularly wet spring, the Danube’s water level rose significantly, prompting swift and decisive action. Sandbags passed from hand to hand as soldiers, firefighters, and volunteers worked side by side toward a common goal. Protecting the town was only possible through this united effort. Each sandbag became a symbol of the community’s strength, resilience, and determination.
